A)REGISTRATION METHODS OF THE ANIMALS IN THE ANAGRAPHIC  REGISTER
(art. 8 Disciplinary Anagraphic Register)

Colts Anagraphic Register

In the Anagraphic Register are included the male and female colts which are born in a stud farm registered in the Anagraphic Register of the equine breed referable to local ethnic group, sons of father and mother registered in the Anagraphic Register.

Brood mares Anagraphic Register

It can be included in the Brood mares Anagraphic Register the female animals coming from the Colts Anagraphic Register with the following characteristics:

1. the minimum age: 30 months

2. in possession of about three generations of ascendant or daughters of animals included in the Brood mares Anagraphic Register

3. the total minimum score of 65 gained in the morphologic estimation.


In order to extend as far as possible the minimum of registration it is possible till 31.12.2002 to include directly in the Brood mares Anagraphic Register the animals not coming from the Colts Anagraphic Register as long as the have the morphologic standardi.

Stallions Anagraphic Register

It can be possible to include in the Stallions Anagraphic Register the male animals coming from the Colts Anagraphic register with the following characteristics:

1. Age 30 months

2. in possession of about three generations of ascendants

3. the total minimum score of 80 gained in the morphologic estimation.

The Provincial Office can request the certificate that verify the ancestors. It will be made by the Central office and the result will be lodged in the same Provincial Office.



B) MORPHOLOGIC EVALUATIONS (art. 9 Disciplinary Anagraphic Register)

Morphologic evaluations according to the race for being included in the Register are made at the age of 30 months, for the animals included in the Anagraphic register that have gone over the morphologic evaluations it must be made at the age of 18 months. The morphologic evaluation card includes the following 10 elements:

1. Conformation and temperament

2. Development

3. Coat and pigmentation

4. Head and neck

5. Chest, thorax and shoulders

6. Line back-lumbar

7. Croup

8. Articulations

9. Perpendicularity and gait

10. Harmony in conformation

For each element we express an evaluation that can vary from 1 to 10.
If an evaluation is less than 5, even in a single standard, the animals isn't include in the register.


The morphologic evaluation is expressed by a final score resulting from the total score of a single element.



C) IDENTIFICATION OF THE ANIMALS (art. 10 Disciplinary Anagraphic Register)

The identification of the animals in the Anagraphic Register is made by:

a) survey of the data on an identification card which is made at the age of 8 months.

b) a matriculation number composed by a progressive number from 1 to 999, for year until 999, for a cycle of 999 matriculation numbers. It is written on the identification card of the colts and on the Brood mares or Stallion Anagraphic Register
.

c) A marking:

- when the animal is included in the Colts Register it is branded with its matriculation number on the left cheek and a microchip is put in the left part of its neck. If it isn't possible to see the brand and the microchip, the verification must be made by the breeder at his own expense. If the verification is positive the breeder will insert another microchip and brand.

- The animal included in the Brood mares or stallion Anagraphic Register is marked with a mark at fire on its left leg with the approval of the Commissione Tecnica Centrale.
