
Martina Franca (49000 inhabitants, 431 mt. f.s.l.) stands on the
Southern hills of Murge. Because of its height Martina Franca
overlooks the enchanting Valle d’Itria which is white for its
“trulli”.
Besides of its landscape characterized by the old “casedde” (the
famous trulli”) and its typical building known as “masserie”,
Martina Franca has a wide karst territory which gives it an
undoubted beauty and a naturalistic importance.
After a walk in the white alleys of the historical centre of the
town, where you can admire many examples of Baroque architecture
and where you can visit the St Martino Basilica and the Doge’s
Palace (where every year the Valle d’Itria Festival takes place)
