Valle d’Itria stands on the Murge and represents an
environmental and cultural unicum that the travellers have
always described with extravagant praises.
Valle d’Itria extends itself as far as the whole wideness of the
valley
with
more
than 20.000 residences with the same structure: the “trulli”,
for this characteristic the Murge in this part of Puglia take
the name of “Murge of the Trulli”.
Alberobello is a town famous in the world for its “trulli”;
at first it was declared national monument and then it was
proclaimed world heritage by UNESCO.
Its land is full of “masserie” and woods which give the
landscape a charming and fairy aspect.
To Valle d’Itria belong Ostuni, the land of olive trees, halfway
between the Murge and the sea; Locorotondo, Cisternino,
Castellana Grotte and Conversano.
